Taking on Disney
Several film critics groups, including the Boston Society of Film Critics, stood in unity with LA counterparts against Walt Disney Company's blackout of the Los Angeles Times, vowing to exclude Disney-produced films from award consideration until the ban is lifted. This resulted from Disney's move to restrict the Times from press screenings and interview access.
